Webelos Communication Assistant Beckey Huddleston (October 9, 2014)
Dear Leaders and Parents, My name is Beckey
Huddleston and I am the outgoing Webelos Communication Assistant for Troop
2860.
First, I hope each of your Packs are off to a great start this school year! The Webelos and AOL year are busy, so I'm sure you're already working with your Cubs towards rank advancement. These next 5 months will really fly by fast. I encourage you to visit at least 2-3 troops in order to find the best fit for your family. Troop 2860's Webelos University will be held at Woodlake United Methodist Church in Hampton Park on Tuesday, November 4. Please plan to arrive by 6:45pm in order to get settled in the sanctuary by 7pm sharp. Your Cubs should be in their Pack's Class A uniform and their adult should plan to attend for the entire meeting. Cubs should plan to go outside, so bring a jacket, if needed. Park in the lot closest to Hull Street and enter the far left door to the hall directly in front of the sanctuary. There, you'll see a table where you'll stop to sign in for Webelos University with your contact information and register for the Shooting Camp and other upcoming activities of interest. During the meeting, your Cubs will explore several stations chocked full of gear and skills while parents enjoy a presentation in one of the church meeting rooms. You'll have the opportunity to meet adult leadership, ask questions, meet other parents and see the Troop 2860 boy leadership in action! Your Cubs will learn a bunch, have fun, and leave really excited and tired! The meeting should end close to 8:30pm.
Here's the lineup of our upcoming Webelo activities:
*The Shooting Sports Camp registration and agenda will be forwarded to you within the next week by Kim Frazier, Troop 2860's incoming Webelos Communication Assistant.
Please forward this information to share with your Webelo/AOL Cub Leaders and Families. Any of our meetings are open to all, but these activities are specifically designed for the Cubs to have a blast and to provide their families with information they need to make an informed choice. These events are not to be missed! o help our Troop plan for your participation, please gather a tentative headcount by October 21st 2014 with a final headcount by October 28th 2014. You can email Kim Frazier at webelos-communication@troop2860.org with your head counts. It would also be very helpful to provide us with your Pack's Crossover date and location to help us plan our troop's participation in your ceremony should any of your Cubs decide to make Troop 2860 their scouting home. We are here to help your Cub families and answer any questions you may have, so please just ask! If you do not wish to receive these emails, please email me back to let me know and you will be removed from the distribution.
