2010 Verdun Adventure Campout

Greetings Scouts! Are you ready for a fun camping weekend with some Challenging Outdoor Personal Experiences (COPE) filled with games, teamwork activities and adventure?

Verdun Adventure Bound (VAB) will provide all that and more Friday, March 26th through Sunday March 28.

VAB is located a little more than 2 hours North in Rixeyville, VA (just 10 miles North of Culpepper, Virginia) and has a certified COPEs (Challenging Outdoor Personal Experience) high and low ropes course on their property where we can camp, hike and have fun.

Don't know what a COPEs course or ropes challenge course is? A simple summary is a series of activities which promotes "learning by doing" for all ages, sizes and abilities including games, innovative initiatives, climbing towers and walls, zip lines etc. with the following goals:

1. Teamwork
2. Communication
3. Trust
4. Leadership
5. Decision Making
6. Problem Solving
7. Self-esteem

Sound like fun? Then please print out and fill out the attached 860 camping permission form along with the VAB waiver form and bring them to the March 17 or March 24 meeting along with the camp fee payment. The fee is indicated on the attached form. You may also email the forms to me(or confirm interest) via email if you do not already see your name on the attached list (these people have already indicated their interest in meeting signups).

If you are interested in more information, please feel free to contact me or my wife Anne Marie or go to the VAB website:

Look forward to sharing the adventure of a lifetime with you all!
